Dream Fields facilities consist of
a 4-acre fenced agility complex on 25 acres of open fields. The complex
houses a fully fenced 100' x 150' training ring, and a 100' x 150' competition
area. A patio with tables, chairs and sun umbrellas is available for relaxing
with other handlers before or after classes. Safe, sturdy agility equipment is provided,
plus special training equipment for Puppies and Beginners including: ladders,
ground tires, bounce planks and tip planks. In addition, a
fully equipped jump chute is available for dogs at all levels of jumping
ability. The Dream Fields Training Arena supports
winter training and trialing. This 150 foot long x 88 foot wide heated arena permits
year-round agility training for Dream Fields students. The Handlers lounge provides a warm, cosy place for students to wait for the start of their
class, and watch the class preceding them. Dream Fields Dog Agility Training
Centre is a dream come true for Del and Cecilia Hersey. Both are professed
agility nuts, who are committed to the sport. The Hersey's have been teaching
agility to dogs of all shapes and sizes, at all levels, since 1995. In
addition, both Del and Cecilia train and compete with their own Standard
Schnauzers - Trapper and Sasha. Both dogs have earned the highest title the
AAC (Agility Association of Canada) offers: the Agility Trial Champion of Canada title.
Sasha and Trapper are the first Standard Schnauzers ever to earn the ATChC title.
In addition, both dogs are working on earning the new CKC (Canadian Kennel Club)
agility titles. For an additional challenge, Cecilia judges dog agility competitions
as an AAC-certified Masters judge and a CKC-certified Excellent judge.
