(puppy must be over 12 months of age to move into the Beginners-3 class)

Sequencing |
The ability to "read" a given sequence and determine
which handling techniques to utilize to ensure
the cleanest, most efficient path for the dog, is the single biggest challenge for the Handler.
The sequence handling challenge makes agility an ongoing delight as it provides an endless variety of
stimulating brain teasers! Practice and guidance in working through myriad "real life" sequences
provide the Handler with exposure to the many varieties of obstacle combinations, and experience
in applying all the available handling techniques. Progression from one class to the next is as follows:
- Intermediate Level-1 > Intermediate Level-2 > Intermediate Level-3 > Starters > Advanced > Masters
- Dogs participating in Sequencing classes may also participate in Obstacle Proficiency and Work Away classes
at the same time.

Focus |
The Focus class is designed for the dog that has its own agenda when you're trying to
teach a behaviour, work a sequence, or run a course. This class is for the dog
that leaves you to ...... follow a scent, visit a friend on the sidelines
(doggy or human), target someone elses toys/treats/kit bags ..... in general this
class is for a dog that is not focussed on YOU!
This is not an agility class, nor is it an obedience class. The class is
designed to work on one area - "focus". To that end, the class
incorporates many different behaviours, most of which your dog already knows. We'll be
using "It's Your Choice" games to teach the dog that to get what "it"
wants, it must first do what "we" want. We'll be using shaping exercises to teach
both you and the dog to concentrate (focus!). Above all, we'll be teaching
the dog Self-Control!
This class WILL involve homework; approximately 10 to 15 minutes each
day. You will be required to document the homework you do.
This will be an intensive class (focussed ), so please do not sign
up if you're not prepared to put in the time to do the homework.
If you do not already have one, you will be required to purchase a Gentle
Leader for your dog (information about the Gentle Leader and where it can
be purchased will be provided at the first lesson).
Dogs participating in Focus classes may also participate in Obstacle Proficiency and Handling/Sequencing classes
at the same time.

Work Away |
Work Away classes will address specific "distance" obstacle execution
foundation behaviours that will improve your dogs confidence in performing obstacles at a distance from you.
Your dogs willingness to "work away" will reduce the distance "you" have to cover on a course, and will give
your dog confidence on a gamble course. Work Away classes are designed to compliment Handling classes in
providing the dog with the ability to work further from the Handler, and the Handler with the tools to
utilize distance handling. Progression from one class to the next is as follows:
- Work Away Level-1 > Work Away Level-2 > Work Away Level-3 > Work Away Level-4
- Dogs participating in Work Away classes may also participate in Obstacle Proficiency and Handling classes
at the same time.
