Obstacle Proficiency Classes
Would you like to:
- improve your dogs contacts?
- train a "solid" start line stay?
- increase your dogs confidence on the See-Saw?
- have your dog "nail" the weave entries?
- build confidence in your dogs performance of the Tire, Tunnel, Table and Jumps?
If any of the above are of interest to you, consider enrolling in a Dream Fields Obstacle Proficiency Class.
When an obstacle performance problem crops up in a regular Handling class, there generally isn't time available
in the class to specifically "work" on the problem. Obstacle Proficiency classes are designed to compliment Handling
classes by addressing specific foundation behaviours that will improve your dogs confidence in
the performance of the obstacles. Better obstacle performance will allow the Handler to concentrate on "his/her"
handling instead of "micro-managing" the dogs performance of each obstacle.
Prerequisites:
Dogs must have graduated from the Dream
Fields Novice Fundamentals Level 3 class (or equivalent), must be confidently performing all
obstacles at competition height, and must be training at the Intermediate, Starters, Advanced or Masters Handling level.
Dream Fields Obstacle Proficiency Classes are organized
into three 5 or 6 week sessons: Obstacle Proficiency Level 1, Obstacle Proficiency Level 2 and Obstacle Proficiency Level 3.
Work Away Classes
Would you like to:
- send your dog to an obstacle 15, 20 or 25 feet away?
- layer obstacles between yourself and your dog?
- improve your dogs obstacle discrimination?
If any of the above are of interest to you, consider enrolling in a Dream Fields Work Away Class.
These classes will address specific "distance" obstacle execution foundation behaviours that will improve
your dogs confidence in performing obstacles at a distance from you. Your dogs willingness to "work away"
will reduce the distance "you" have to cover on a course, and will give your dog confidence on
a gamble course. Work Away classes are designed to compliment Handling classes in providing the dog with the
ability to work further from the Handler, and the Handler with the tools to utilize distance handling.
Prerequisites:
